Alexandra Troop is a Canadian illustrator and painter with a full-time passion for creating. She has been directing her own creative journey through learning opportunities at college, and subsequently through workshops and exhibitions. She is consistently evolving, both technically and conceptually, while showcasing the wonders of nature.
Alexandra has earned her diploma in Fish and Wildlife Technology, providing her with an enhanced understanding of her wildlife subjects in the works that she creates. She has also earned her certificate in Drawing and Painting at Fleming College’s Haliburton School of the Arts. Since pursuing her art professionally, Alexandra has won several awards in juried art exhibitions. She was honoured with the award for Best in Wildlife category, as well as the People’s Choice Award at the Oshawa Art Association’s 46th Juried Art Exhibition. She was also a finalist in the International Watercolour Society’s Exhibition in 2018.
Alexandra is also the illustrator of a children’s book titled “Sunshine and Pollen. The Life of Mason Bees”. Alexandra enjoys travelling and also working in wildlife rehabilitation. She is currently residing and working in Durham Region in Ontario, Canada while she explores nature in Ontario.
